Dameware MRC V 9.0 64 Bit And Windows Server 2012

Good Afternoon,

I recently tried installing the Dameware Mini Remote driver onto a Windows Server 2012 machine and it continues to report back "The Operating System has reported that a reboot of the remote machine is required to complete the Mirror Driver installation/update".  Once you click ok, it lets you in.  But, everytime you remote in with Dameware, it pops up this message.  The system has been rebooted multiple times and tried installing the driver multiple ways with no success.  How do I get around this?  Thanks

Dameware MRC hangs white screen - Akamaiedge.net

Hi,

We are using Dameware MRC 9.0.1. It hangs when trying to load the program for 10 - 15 seconds. I've ran a process monitor and it's hanging on an connection to 2.22.139.27.

I've also ran a network monitor trace and MRC is trying to open a connection to akamaiedge.net on port 80.

We sit behind a proxy and firewall, so the direct connection can't be made.

Anyway of disabling this?

Many thanks

Rich

Dameware 10 Mini Remote Control Tool - Admin Cert on CAC

Hello,

I am setting up Dameware 10 Remote Control Tool on a few systems and am having an issue getting connected to remote systems using my CAC.  We have both admin and regular certs on the CAC but will be using the admin cert to do the remote control assistance.

Ill give you a rundown of what I am doing:

Right click DameWare Mini Remote Control > Run as (choose my admin Cert from CAC)

Fill in all information needed (Select Smart Card logon and fill in PIN)

Click connect and get error, after a few moments of waiting

Error:

DameWare Mini Remote Control

Smart Card Logon Failed (5.2).

System Error: 1326

System Message: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

After inspecting the security logs on the client system I see that the error is because its attempting to use my regular user account, not my admin account. Even tho we are running the MRC tool using admin cert credentials.

Security Logs on client system shows the attempted connection and failure:

An account failed to log on.

Subject:

  Security ID: SYSTEM

  Account Name: %COMPUTERNAME%$

  Account Domain: %DOMAIN%

  Logon ID: 0x3e7

Logon Type: 3

  Security ID: NULL SID

  Account Name: %REMOVEDINFO%

  Account Domain:

Failure Information:

Failure Reason: Unknown user name or bad password.

  Status: 0xc000006d

  Sub Status: 0xc0000064

  Caller Process Name: C:\Windows\dwrcs\DWRCS.exe

  Source Port: -

Detailed Authentication Information:

  Logon Process: DWMRC3

  Authentication Package: Kerberos

  Transited Services: -

  Package Name (NTLM only): -

  Key Length: 0

This event is generated when a logon request fails. It is generated on the computer where access was attempted.

The Subject fields indicate the account on the local system which requested the logon. This is most commonly a service such as the Server service, or a local process such as Winlogon.exe or Services.exe.

The Logon Type field indicates the kind of logon that was requested. The most common types are 2 (interactive) and 3 (network).

The Process Information fields indicate which account and process on the system requested the logon.

The Network Information fields indicate where a remote logon request originated. Workstation name is not always available and may be left blank in some cases.

The authentication information fields provide detailed information about this specific logon request.

  - Transited services indicate which intermediate services have participated in this logon request.

  - Package name indicates which sub-protocol was used among the NTLM protocols.

  - Key length indicates the length of the generated session key. This will be 0 if no session key was requested.

I am a local admin on remote system and can confirm this with username and password, so we know the authentication is there.  For some reason it keeps defaulting back to the regular user cert.

Any thoughts on it?

Possible Name Resolution Conflict

I'm having issues with 2 of my servers when connecting to then via Dameware MRC.  I'm able to connect to each, but I'm getting a pop-up about a possible name resolution conflict.  I have verified that the DNS entry is correct for each server.  I can ping each by name and IP with no problem.  I've attached a screenshot and while the server name is blurred out I can assure you it shows the same name twice.  Can someone assist me in figuring out what the issue might be?

Using DameWare With non-admin account

Our company has an employee IT, who is necessary to connect to the computers of other users and help them. In this case the employee does not have the rights of a domain and local administrator on the users' computers. If the officer is trying to connect to the user - the user pops up a request for acceptance of connection.

Despite the fact that the user agrees to the connection, you can only view the remote computer, without the ability to manage the session.

Tell me, is it possible to manage users' computers without domain rights and local administrator?

UPDATED

After reading the article How to: Allow automatic Remote Control for non-admin users I realized that it is sufficient to remove the label from one of the items on the agent.

The question is how it's best to remove these marks made on all computers in the network?

Dameware remote control is slow to connect.

When Windows Firewall is enabled stealth mode is enabled by default and there is no supported method to turn this off.

Is there any way to fix this problem on the client side without installing dameware on every single computer.

So what happens is you connect to a computer with dameware the connection spends several very noticable seconds before it promts you to install the client. This is because it seems to assume the client is always installed. And this is why stealth mode causes a problem.

Is there any way for the dameware client to do a check for the client service first and then connect or install the client?

Is this problem solved in any of the recent versions of the software? I belive we are a few versions behind.

Silent Install switches/arguments for "Solarwinds.LicenseManager.exe"?

I want to create a silent installer for DamewareMRC 12.04 Client and would like to also package the Solarwinds LicenseManager application.  My goal is to have the license manager app silently install and then launch to initiate user assignment and license check-in.  Are there any switches and/or arguments for "Solarwinds.LicenseManager.exe" available to accomplish this goal?

Best Settings for Internet Session

I have the Dameware Central server along with the internet proxy and mobile gateway. All on one server, simple install. Whenever i connect to a PC through an internet session link, the connection is pretty laggy. It doesnt matter what speed the remote computer has, its always laggy. I just tested one with 26 Mbps up and 30 Mbps down and it lags terribly. I would imagine that internet speed would be sufficient for a smooth connection. Are there any settings i can tweak or modify so i get a better remote experience?

Thanks,

Uninstalling Dameware agents V 6.8.1.4

Good afternoon Solarwinds community,

I've inherited a network that used to run dameware 6.8.1.4 as their remote desktop management program. We've moved to a new platform already and in the interests of security we want to completely uninstall the agent on all of the client computers. The thing is though that the only indication that the software exists is by seeing it running in the system tray, there's no entry for it in control panel and manually deleting folders and registry keys on every PC in the network is very inefficient. I found where the main program "Dameware NT Utilities" sits on our network and I'm able to open it up there. What I need assistance with is generating a list of all of the PCs that have the agent running and then remotely uninstalling it through the management program.

Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide here,

Hello NG,

I come from this site http://forums.dameware.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3065 , which resulted in opening a support case.

Our systems experience lots of the following error entries in Windows event viewer, application log:

##################################################################
Error:
DameWare Mini Remote Control
No Link-Local or Site-Local Cloud Available (Local).

System Error: 0
System Message: Der Vorgang wurde erfolgreich beendet.

(srv 64 bit)
##################################################################

We want to get rid of the messages. Can you help?

Our Dameware version is 7.5.9.0, we run Windows 7 64bit Ultimate SP1 fully patched. Our systems have IPv6 disabled in properties of the NIC configurations.

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Bob

DameWare products have stopped working

Since yesterday I have been getting a popup when trying to connect to a computer.  "DameWare products has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."  I've reinstalled DameWare MRC, but the problem still persists.  Google search finds nothing with this issue.  Any ideas?

I'm getting this error when trying to dial into one specific site. All the computers at this site give me the same error. I can succesfully log into all of our other sites using Dameware with Windows NT challenge response. I have confirmed that there are other users who are having this problem as well, however strangely some users can still access this site with Dameware and Windows NT challenge response no problem. I found a post on your old forums recommending adding a few lines of code into the INI file, but that must have been for an older version of Dameware that still used one, I think it all goes into the registry now. Has anyone had this issue before? If you need any more info please let me know.

Any help is appreciated!

How to attach dameware mrc 9 window to toolbar so I can move it on my screen?

$

Sometime when connecting to high resolution clients, my dameware mrc does not let me move the window on my screen.  I am connected to two clients right now for example.  One is at 1024x768.  The dameware "window" has a menu bar (File, Send, Monitor...) and buttons, and the display of this remote machine is integrated within this window.  I can minimize, maximize, close or drag this window around no problem.

The other machine I am connected to is 1920x1080.  The view of this remote machine is separated from the dameware toolbar in the top middle of my screen.  The window border around the view of the remote machine is so thin that there is nothing to grab ahold of to move this window around my screens.  I can only really awkwardly resize it to move it to another monitor or another place on my screen.  How could I get the view of this remote machine attached with the menu bar and tool bar, like the other machine?  There's no way to disconnect either.  Well one would have to close it from the taskbar.  If you click the little X in the top anchored, centered toolbar that is detached from the remote PC view, that toolbar goes away permanently . unless you close dameware and reopen it.

I am using MRC 9.0

Dameware Mini Remote Control- no remote mouse/keyboard control

I am running DameWare Mini Remote Control V12.0.0.509 32-bit on Windows 7 Enterprise V6.1 Build 7601 w/ SP1.

I am able to connect to a remote PC and see their desktop, along with mouse and keystroke changes; however, I am no longer able to remotely control the mouse or keyboard like I once was.

We recently upgraded to the software version shown above in order to attempt to resolve the problem. I was able to remotely control the mouse and keyboard when connected to a test PC; however, when I remoted into the PC of an internal customer who needed troubleshooting assistance, I had no mouse or keyboard control.

Suggestions?
