Waiting for initial screen ~ Dameware Mini Remote Control

When I try to connect to a XP PC I get the following error " Waiting for the initial screen". I did come across articles that say you must change registry entries. Another article suggest that you should upgrade Dameware.

 

I did not even try those solutions, because my colleague is using the same version of Dameware on the same OS as I do. He can connect to the XP Pc while I cant connect to the same PC.

 

Is there any solutions to this problem, maybe an obscure setting.


DWRCC from command line using credentials always access denied

Hi people

 

-im trying to launch mini remote control from command line as follow:

"C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\DameWare Mini Remote Control 9.0\DWRCC.exe" -c: -h: -a:1 -m:server -u:user -p:pass -d:domain

 

but always fail with error message about wrong credentials. ( see screen attached )

 

-On the other handif iusethe same credentialsfromthe GUI , successfully connects.

-The remote PC is on a workgroup not in the domain

 

seems like from the command line always use the logged on user credential not the passed user/pass.

 

What might be theproblem?

Send Pop-up on LAN

Hello everybody,

First of all, sorry if i don't post on the right place.

I try the demo of  "Dameware mini remote control" for my company and now i will buy it.

I have a question, is it possible to send Pop-Up message to all users of my LAN? For example : "Hello everybody, please close our application and wait 15 minutes".

I don't want to chat or send mail but send a LAN Message. Before it was "net send" on command dos but now it's impossible.

Dameware Mini Remote Control- no remote mouse/keyboard control

I am running DameWare Mini Remote Control V12.0.0.509 32-bit on Windows 7 Enterprise V6.1 Build 7601 w/ SP1.

I am able to connect to a remote PC and see their desktop, along with mouse and keystroke changes; however, I am no longer able to remotely control the mouse or keyboard like I once was.

We recently upgraded to the software version shown above in order to attempt to resolve the problem. I was able to remotely control the mouse and keyboard when connected to a test PC; however, when I remoted into the PC of an internal customer who needed troubleshooting assistance, I had no mouse or keyboard control.

 

Suggestions?

DameWare products have stopped working

Since yesterday I have been getting a popup when trying to connect to a computer.  "DameWare products has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."  I've reinstalled DameWare MRC, but the problem still persists.  Google search finds nothing with this issue.  Any ideas?

disable clipboard via registry?

Hi, running version 11 of remote control client, can someone post example of registry settings to turn off clipboard feature? When trying to copy and paste on a Windows 2012 R2 Server using remote client, it always crashes Server manager, this is the exception error :

 

EXCEPTION_CODE: (HRESULT) 0x800401d0 (2147746256) - OpenClipboard Failed

 

Anyone seen this before?

File Activity and Directories for DWRCC

Can anyone tell me what the following directories are used for:

 

\Windows\dwrcs\Uploads\

\$User\AppData\Local\Temp\DWRCC Downloads\

 

Is the uploads folder where a file in placed when uploading to another host? Is the downloads folder where files are downloaded to from another host? I know Dameware has the SFT feature, but I am trying to figure where files may be located.

 

And can anyone list the default directories or behavior for where these files or artifacts would be if this is not the location of uploads and downloads?


Copy/Paste between Remote PC and Local PC in Dameware MRC?

We are used to RDP and the Copy/Paste between local PC and Remote PC.

Is this not allowed using DameWare?

I have one user machine (windows 7 64 bit) that only gives me a black screen when I connect. MRC works fine with the xp machines on the network. Is there some setting I need to change?

or am I missing something else?  Thanks

CTRL-ALT-DELETE doesn't work when I'm attached to a client's machine

When I'm using Dameware V10 to remote into a client's machine, it always starts with the following message "Configuring the remote system for first time use. This may take as much as two minutes. Please wait..."  It allows me to get to the client's machine but then the CTRL-ALT-DELETE function doesn't work and I can't log in. I've also tried to use the Send "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" option.  I've installed and re-installed the Dameware Software at least 3 times but it still has the same issue. What would be causing this problem? Thanks.

Using DMRC more efficiently

We just started using DMRC and like how fast it connects compared to other tools however I have a couple questions on using it more efficiently.

 

Is it possible to have a reconnect list of most recent 10-15 connections? I'm sure it's possible i'm just not finding it.

Also, I rely heavily on the Global Host List to find the asset I'd like to remote. It currently mimics our AD structure. Is it possible to have the Global Host List fully expanded upon startup or somehow make that the default list when starting Remote Connect?

We have show tray icon-only when connected checked. Is there a way to have it be displayed but then auto minimize after 'x' many seconds or minimize on mouse-over?

Dameware MRC hangs white screen - Akamaiedge.net

Hi,

 

We are using Dameware MRC 9.0.1. It hangs when trying to load the program for 10 - 15 seconds. I've ran a process monitor and it's hanging on an connection to 2.22.139.27.

 

I've also ran a network monitor trace and MRC is trying to open a connection to akamaiedge.net on port 80.

 

We sit behind a proxy and firewall, so the direct connection can't be made.

 

Anyway of disabling this?

I have a user laptop with a strange issue. Noticed in Event Viewer, that one particular error pops up very frequently. This error occurs roughly every 3 minutes.

Whyd does Dameware log off my client when I exit remote control

This never used to happen. Now it is happening and I cannot find any settings so I think it has to be due to something else. Let me know if there is some setting that I could change to not make it log off the remote user when I exit remote control. I already tried it without removing the service. Thanks

I tried to connect with MRC 9 and got the below error. I tried again on 11 and got the same thing. Another PC with MRC is having the same issue. Other remote PCs are fine. I removed the remote service and the issue persists. Any ideas?

How to capture remote screen or even local screen when running Dameware 12?

This question may also apply to earlier versions of Dameware. I would like to capture the full remote control session screen for inclusion into an e-mail. For some reason Alt-Print Scrn and Ctrl-Print Scrn are disabled. Is there a way around this?
