Hi there,

I am running DameWare Mini Remote Control V12.0.0.509 32-bit on Windows 7 Enterprise V6.1 Build 7601 w/ SP1.
I am able to connect to a remote PC and see their desktop, along with mouse and keystroke changes; however, I am no longer able to remotely control the mouse or keyboard like I once was.
We recently upgraded to the software version shown above in order to attempt to resolve the problem. I was able to remotely control the mouse and keyboard when connected to a test PC; however, when I remoted into the PC of an internal customer who needed troubleshooting assistance, I had no mouse or keyboard control.
Suggestions?
When I'm using Dameware V10 to remote into a client's machine, it always starts with the following message "Configuring the remote system for first time use. This may take as much as two minutes. Please wait..." It allows me to get to the client's machine but then the CTRL-ALT-DELETE function doesn't work and I can't log in. I've also tried to use the Send "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" option. I've installed and re-installed the Dameware Software at least 3 times but it still has the same issue. What would be causing this problem? Thanks.
I have the Dameware Centralized server and mobile gateway. I built a server entirely dedicated to this so the internet proxy is on the same server. I am having issues getting the Internet Session URL to work. I have a public IP and a Public DNS entry setup specifically for this. I have the ports open on my firewall and the Public IP Natted to the internal. I didnt change the ports, i left them as default.
Everytime i try to set a URL in the configuration wizard, it errors in the test connection. I also get a dialogue box saying "Some of the connection details are not configured properly. You will still need to change your settings to be able to use this functionality later." I have my host name (name of the server), the default ports, and the internet session URL in the form of: https://xx.domain.org/. I have tried adding the https port (443) at the end and a few different variations of that. Nothing works
With all that said. I am able to use the mobile gateway. I can access the server from an android and apple device from outside the network and then connect to workstations in the network. I use the xx.domain.org that i have setup publicly to connect to the server and since i am able to do that, it seems like my Firewall is correctly forwarding traffic to my server and the correct ports are open.
I am wondering what i am doing wrong? Do i need to install an SSL certificate on the server for it to work? I'm at a loss here and all Solar Winds support sent me was documentation that i have already read.
Any Ideas?
Thanks in advance

I have Dameware 7.5.6.1 32 bit running on 64bit Windows 7 and the remote clients are all 64bit Windows 7 machines.
It seems when I login to some of our remote computers I get an Smart Card Authentication failed error:
"System error: -2146435069, Remote Message: System Error: -2146435069. System message: the supplied handle was invalid."
The corresponding Windows Application logs show: "System error 10014, event id 110."
It seems to happen when I try to use the miniremote to remote into some computers, not all remote clients. It seems to happen after a sudden disconnect or reboot of the remote machine. It doesn't matter where I do it, so it not computer/profile specific. And I can get co-workers to login to the same remote system w/o issue, so it seems to be my issue.
I can use dameware NT utilities to access all the tools for the respective computer but a soon as I try to use MiniRemote and try to login I get the error. I can use other remote desktop apps and windows RDP w/ smart card authentication w/o errors.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program on my pc, the service and drivers on the remote PC w/ Dameware software. I've tried manually adding and removing the conents %windir%\dwrcs folder on the remote system w/o issue.
Damware sees my smart card as a JavaCard #2 if that helps.
We recently moved Domains.. And in doing so I had to change my profile. So I decided reinstall my Dameware Mini Remote. Out
of 60 Users 3 are now Requesting permission to log onto their computer? I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling the Dameware Client on those computers to no avail? Could someone help me? I'm the IT Systems Administrator and one of my duties, if requested by Management, is to shadow users without their knowledge and with it requesting access that defeats the purpose.
Thank you

I'm having issues with 2 of my servers when connecting to then via Dameware MRC. I'm able to connect to each, but I'm getting a pop-up about a possible name resolution conflict. I have verified that the DNS entry is correct for each server. I can ping each by name and IP with no problem. I've attached a screenshot and while the server name is blurred out I can assure you it shows the same name twice. Can someone assist me in figuring out what the issue might be?
Any thoughts on how to make this work?
When Windows Firewall is enabled stealth mode is enabled by default and there is no supported method to turn this off.
Is there any way to fix this problem on the client side without installing dameware on every single computer.
So what happens is you connect to a computer with dameware the connection spends several very noticable seconds before it promts you to install the client. This is because it seems to assume the client is always installed. And this is why stealth mode causes a problem.
Is there any way for the dameware client to do a check for the client service first and then connect or install the client?
Is this problem solved in any of the recent versions of the software? I belive we are a few versions behind.
Sometime when connecting to high resolution clients, my dameware mrc does not let me move the window on my screen. I am connected to two clients right now for example. One is at 1024x768. The dameware "window" has a menu bar (File, Send, Monitor...) and buttons, and the display of this remote machine is integrated within this window. I can minimize, maximize, close or drag this window around no problem.
The other machine I am connected to is 1920x1080. The view of this remote machine is separated from the dameware toolbar in the top middle of my screen. The window border around the view of the remote machine is so thin that there is nothing to grab ahold of to move this window around my screens. I can only really awkwardly resize it to move it to another monitor or another place on my screen. How could I get the view of this remote machine attached with the menu bar and tool bar, like the other machine? There's no way to disconnect either. Well one would have to close it from the taskbar. If you click the little X in the top anchored, centered toolbar that is detached from the remote PC view, that toolbar goes away permanently . unless you close dameware and reopen it.
I am using MRC 9.0
Does anyone know how to create a shortcut to open to a host into fullscreen?
i.e "C:\Program Files\DameWare Development\DameWare Mini Remote Control 7.5\DWRCC.exe" -c: -md: -x: -m:xxxxxxx (WHAT ELSE)
Im making a computer that auto boots, and logs into multiple virtual machines and displays them on seperate monitors. I've got everything except for figuring out how to make dameware open fullscreen. I can't find any options or anything. The closest I can get is having the screen maximized
Hi. Is there a log the computer keeps to track Dameware connections or sessions? I am new to Dameware and would like to know if this is a feature because not all staff members remember to lock the remote pc- I'm more concerned about server,) before disconnecting via Dameware.
Good Afternoon,
I recently tried installing the Dameware Mini Remote driver onto a Windows Server 2012 machine and it continues to report back "The Operating System has reported that a reboot of the remote machine is required to complete the Mirror Driver installation/update". Once you click ok, it lets you in. But, everytime you remote in with Dameware, it pops up this message. The system has been rebooted multiple times and tried installing the driver multiple ways with no success. How do I get around this? Thanks
Hello NG,
I come from this site http://forums.dameware.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3065 , which resulted in opening a support case.
Our systems experience lots of the following error entries in Windows event viewer, application log:
##################################################################
Error:
DameWare Mini Remote Control
No Link-Local or Site-Local Cloud Available (Local).
System Error: 0
System Message: Der Vorgang wurde erfolgreich beendet.
(srv 64 bit)
##################################################################
We want to get rid of the messages. Can you help?
Our Dameware version is 7.5.9.0, we run Windows 7 64bit Ultimate SP1 fully patched. Our systems have IPv6 disabled in properties of the NIC configurations.
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
Bob

I have tried the licenseManager.exe and I still recieve license errors on systems, usually when they have had dameware 9 on them.
There is a problem with your licensing system. Contact Solwinds technical support.
I know the "floating" DameWare MRC control toolbar which exists once you're connected to a remote host can be moved around or dismissed with the X, however I do not always remember how to get it back.
Is there a setting such that it can auto-hide to an edge or corner of the controlling machine's screen until the mouse goes to that edge or corner, similar to the way the Windoze taskbar or OSX dock can hide until the mouse goes to the edge of the taskbar's or dock's edge of the screen where the taskbar/dock then reveals itself?
If it doesn't exist, make it exist!
