Hi there,

We are used to RDP and the Copy/Paste between local PC and Remote PC.

Is this not allowed using DameWare?

Thanks,

Noob here. Dameware/remote session log

Hi. Is there a log the computer keeps to track Dameware connections or sessions? I am new to Dameware and would like to know if this is a feature because not all staff members remember to lock the remote pc- I'm more concerned about server,) before disconnecting via Dameware.

Dameware Exporter AD attributes

I'm migrating an AD domain and attempting to export many attributes into a .csv file. The export works great with the 29 default AD "user attributes". However, when I attempt to modify the list of attributes exported it looks like it works, I hit OK and they won't save.

For instance below I have the "memberOf" attribute highlighted. I click remove, and it goes away, and then I click OK to save it. But when I open this window up again immediately after make the change the "memberOf" attrib is back in the top list.

DWExport_Attribs.JPG

Perhaps I'm doing something stupid here? The export from the DC works I'm just not getting the attribs I want.

I am trying to export the AD Computer name and the Last logged in user to the same .csv file instead of seperate files even though I have it selected for same output file is set to true.  Can anyone tell me how to export those two things into the same .csv file so I dont have to manually find the information in DameWare??

Thanks Robert

Dameware Mini Remote Control- no remote mouse/keyboard control

I am running DameWare Mini Remote Control V12.0.0.509 32-bit on Windows 7 Enterprise V6.1 Build 7601 w/ SP1.

I am able to connect to a remote PC and see their desktop, along with mouse and keystroke changes; however, I am no longer able to remotely control the mouse or keyboard like I once was.

We recently upgraded to the software version shown above in order to attempt to resolve the problem. I was able to remotely control the mouse and keyboard when connected to a test PC; however, when I remoted into the PC of an internal customer who needed troubleshooting assistance, I had no mouse or keyboard control.

Unable to connect to remote workstations over unattended internet proxy connection

Has anyone seen this before? Tried opening a ticket with SW but wasn't really able to reach a resolution here... any thoughts or help would be appreciated, willing to try some out of the box ideas to get this working if anyone's already been through it...

When attempting an unattended remote connection, the MRC client gives critical error "Session can not be established. Remote host is unreachable".

In the Central Server Logs it says: "DameWare.Server.RoleOTIProxy.Executive.ExecutiveSubSystems - SignalROtiUConnection - Incomming connection was refused because agent has not been validated"

In the agent logs on the remote system is says: "ERROR [CTransportProxy] Failed to establish SignalR connection, error = "Unexpected token near line 1, column 1"."

How to force Windows to always show MRC icon in the system tray

Windows default is to only show notifications from applications in the system tray. We wish to have the MRC icon always visible, so users can right-click on it and connect to the console of the helpdesk member talking to them. Many times it's easier than trying to figure out their computer's name or IP.

There's a setting (and a GPO) to show all the icons of the system tray, but there's too many useless icons to show them all. It get worst when a user hooks up their laptop to a projector; with the small resolution of the display (most projectors resolution is 1024x768) and the "show all icons" settings enabled, there's hardly enough space in the task bar for two or three applications at the same time.

Users can customize which icons are to be always displayed, but is there a way to automate the process for all users?

Remote computer freezes after few seconds

We had a problem with Dameware but it is not reproducible. We connect to a computer via
Dameware Mini Remote Control. Then the user accept the connection and we can
see the monitor screen. After few seconds the computer freezes and the colleague
can do nothing. Restarting the service via Remote Support is not solving the
problem The only solution is to power of the computer via the power button
and start it again. Problem occurs on Windows 10 and Windows 7.

DameWare GPO Options

Running DameWare Version 11.2.0.91 (64 Bit)

Hello there everyone, had a question about DameWare and GPO options. When Reg changes are made through group policy shouldn't the DameWare Mini Remote Control take the changes in effect? I made changes to the following Reg Files:  Force Encrypt Data, Force Encrypt Images, and SFT: Enable Simple File Transfer and moved my VM to test out the results. The Reg files took the changes but the application did not.

When you launch the DameWare Mini Remote Control > Remote Connect Window > Click Settings > Click Encryption Options Tab and under Remote Control box options still unchecked (Encrypt General Data and Images)?

Under Simple File Transfer: Enable Encryption Still Unchecked?

With the changes made to the reg files, shouldn't these options be checked with Reg Value of 1?

If I am doing something wrong, please let me know thank you in advance.

Josh

when using DameWare Mini Remote Control I copy to a remote PC, for example a password or some other text (plain text), but it is not inserted into the remote PC.

such a problem appeared when I reinstalled DameWare Mini Remote Control on a new operating system - Windows 10

the clipboard does not work when copying from the main PC to a remote one, but in the opposite direction (copying from a remote machine to the main PC) is working.

How to attach dameware mrc 9 window to toolbar so I can move it on my screen?

$

Sometime when connecting to high resolution clients, my dameware mrc does not let me move the window on my screen.  I am connected to two clients right now for example.  One is at 1024x768.  The dameware "window" has a menu bar (File, Send, Monitor...) and buttons, and the display of this remote machine is integrated within this window.  I can minimize, maximize, close or drag this window around no problem.

The other machine I am connected to is 1920x1080.  The view of this remote machine is separated from the dameware toolbar in the top middle of my screen.  The window border around the view of the remote machine is so thin that there is nothing to grab ahold of to move this window around my screens.  I can only really awkwardly resize it to move it to another monitor or another place on my screen.  How could I get the view of this remote machine attached with the menu bar and tool bar, like the other machine?  There's no way to disconnect either.  Well one would have to close it from the taskbar.  If you click the little X in the top anchored, centered toolbar that is detached from the remote PC view, that toolbar goes away permanently . unless you close dameware and reopen it.

I am using MRC 9.0

Using DameWare With non-admin account

Our company has an employee IT, who is necessary to connect to the computers of other users and help them. In this case the employee does not have the rights of a domain and local administrator on the users' computers. If the officer is trying to connect to the user - the user pops up a request for acceptance of connection.

Despite the fact that the user agrees to the connection, you can only view the remote computer, without the ability to manage the session.

Tell me, is it possible to manage users' computers without domain rights and local administrator?

UPDATED

After reading the article How to: Allow automatic Remote Control for non-admin users I realized that it is sufficient to remove the label from one of the items on the agent.

The question is how it's best to remove these marks made on all computers in the network?

VNC connection pegs CPU to 100%

Hi,

Every time I initiate a VNC connection to a Mac or Windows host, the CPU on my local machine goes to 100% and stays there until I disconnect. If I use RealVNC to connect to those machines however, CPU has little spikes but never 100% and never pegged. Using Dameware 9.0.1.247 64 bit, Windows 7 Pro x64. Windows is running as a Boot Camp VM in VMWare Fusion.

Any insight?

DameWare Centralized Server Global Host List

$

We don't keep information in AD like user names in description fields for computer objects, therefore unfortunately something like an AD Import for the global hosts list will not work for me. However, I am able to automate the creation of a list in CSV or XML of hosts, IP Addresses, and Aliases (which will be user names). Does DameWare Centralized Server have any local file or registry key that maintains the global hosts list that I can simply replace in order to update the global hosts list?
