MRC with central server

$

Hello,

is it possible to use MRC with Central Server? I am asking because when I click on "buy now" at Download Remote Administration Software l DameWare it takes me to Remote Support buy page Store | SolarWinds - DameWare Remote Support - Buy Now

Also how much do I have to pay for Central Server? How is the licencing? I have 3 licences (seats) of MRC. Do I have to buy 3 licences of Central server also? Where do I have to install central server? On DC server? What happenes when my DC HDD fails, do I lose Central server licence? In that case do I lose MRC licences as well?

Is it possible to have Central server on two servers? So when one fails, the other takes over, so my colleagues can connect and use MRC? How many licences I need in this case?

How do I see the password that I've forgotten.

I'm using Dameware mini remote control v11.2.  Using kvm options.  I have an admin account and a password already in DM, but I've forgotten the password.  When I click on connect it works because the id and password is saved in dameware, but how do I see the password?

Cache Dameware Mini Remote Control License for some hours o

Hi all,

We have following scenario in our environment: If you are using Dameware Mini Remote Control in addition with a Dameware Central Server,
it would be great that the Dameware Mini Remote Control Client would be able to "cache" the checked-out license for some hours on the computer (something like Microsoft KMS is doing it, but not with 100 days )

This would be the best solution is the server breaks/reboot for updates/maintainance etc. Otherwise Dameware Mini Remote Control Client cannot be started and the IT support is blind.

Do you know any possibilities to do this?

Thomas

DMRC activation with Stand Alone Mode

Is there a possibility to activate the DMRC (Stand Alone Mode) without Internet Access and the usage of manual activation within the Portal?

We have thousands of licenses, I cannot do a offline activation for every client with no Internet Access.

Can i do this with the Dameware Central Server? I do not want to switch the mode to the Centralized-Mode! Outerwise i have the problem, that the server must be high available.

Thomas

Get Smart Card Authentication failed in MiniRemote

I have Dameware 7.5.6.1 32 bit running on 64bit Windows 7 and the remote clients are all 64bit Windows 7 machines.

It seems when I login to some of our remote computers I get an Smart Card Authentication failed error:

"System error: -2146435069, Remote Message: System Error: -2146435069. System message: the supplied handle was invalid."

The corresponding Windows Application logs show: "System error 10014, event id 110."

It seems to happen when I try to use the miniremote to remote into some computers, not all remote clients. It seems to happen after a sudden disconnect or reboot of the remote machine. It doesn't matter where I do it, so it not computer/profile specific. And I can get co-workers to login to the same remote system w/o issue, so it seems to be my issue.

I can use dameware NT utilities to access all the tools for the respective computer but a soon as I try to use MiniRemote and try to login I get the error. I can use other remote desktop apps and windows RDP w/ smart card authentication w/o errors.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program on my pc, the service and drivers on the remote PC w/ Dameware software. I've tried manually adding and removing the conents %windir%\dwrcs folder on the remote system w/o issue.

Damware sees my smart card as a JavaCard #2 if that helps.

DameWare Server/Proxy issues

I have the Dameware Centralized server and mobile gateway. I built a server entirely dedicated to this so the internet proxy is on the same server. I am having issues getting the Internet Session URL to work. I have a public IP and a Public DNS entry setup specifically for this. I have the ports open on my firewall and the Public IP Natted to the internal. I didnt change the ports, i left them as default.

Everytime i try to set a URL in the configuration wizard, it errors in the test connection. I also get a dialogue box saying  "Some of the connection details are not configured properly. You will still need to change your settings to be able to use this functionality later." I have my host name (name of the server), the default ports, and the internet session URL in the form of: https://xx.domain.org/. I have tried adding the https port (443) at the end and a few different variations of that. Nothing works

With all that said. I am able to use the mobile gateway. I can access the server from an android and apple device from outside the network and then connect to workstations in the network. I use the xx.domain.org that i have setup publicly to connect to the server and since i am able to do that, it seems like my Firewall is correctly forwarding traffic to my server and the correct ports are open.

I am wondering what i am doing wrong? Do i need to install an SSL certificate on the server for it to work? I'm at a loss here and all Solar Winds support sent me was documentation that i have already read.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance

I tried to connect with MRC 9 and got the below error. I tried again on 11 and got the same thing. Another PC with MRC is having the same issue. Other remote PCs are fine. I removed the remote service and the issue persists. Any ideas?

Please try one of the other authentication types or please check the remote machine's authentication settings.

Disconnecting.

Question about refresh rate.

Dear guys,

I have a technical question about DameWare Mini Remote Control Version 12.0.

Let me try to explain the situatie so you guys can give me the best advice.

We have a (multiple) cliënt with the following setup:

Dell R5500 > K2200 Graphic card > Displayport to DVI > DVI Strecht > Fiber > Patch > Patch > Fiber > DVI Strecht > DVI To HDMI > Barco Videowall.

The problem is that after a random moment the screen turn black. There is no message on the screen with "no signal" if we connect with dameware ( to see if the client is working or not ).

We connect to the client and the problem is gone because dameware is pushing some refresh rate or creates another session that sorts a gets the client out of sleepmode.

I have checked all the problems that could be possible. Graphic card driver energy settings checked power savings evrything is been lookt at. What could my problem be?

And can tell me how dameware works?

Kind regards,

Kevin Lankhaar

On windows x64 - our users don't have to press the accept button any more when taking over the pc. How can I change that they have to accept it? In the past on the windows 32 bit pcs we put permission required on yes in the dwrc.ini but this is not possible any more?

Please advise

Best Settings for Internet Session

I have the Dameware Central server along with the internet proxy and mobile gateway. All on one server, simple install. Whenever i connect to a PC through an internet session link, the connection is pretty laggy. It doesnt matter what speed the remote computer has, its always laggy. I just tested one with 26 Mbps up and 30 Mbps down and it lags terribly. I would imagine that internet speed would be sufficient for a smooth connection. Are there any settings i can tweak or modify so i get a better remote experience?

Dameware service not installing

Hello

We have a problem  on a W2K8 R2 STD server. The  Dameware Mini Remote  Control service is not installing automatically. All files are copied to the local folder but it  seems that registry entries are missing in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DameWare Development

In the logfile "..\All Users\DameWare Development\Logs" we see following error:

2015-12-29 15:05:54,870 main@1136 INFO  [DWRCS] ************************** DWRCS version is: 11.0.0.1003 **************************

2015-12-29 15:11:52,496 main@2944 ERROR [Service] LogErrorMsg dwErr=1063: StartServiceCtrlDispatcher failed.

The Dameware console (trying to install it) shows us an error, asking for a user and a password. After clicking cancel it gives the error "unable to install service. System Error: 5, System Messagae: Access is denied"

We have checked if the admin has all needed rights and it seems so. We have tried with a local administrator and a domain administrator. It isn't working either way. We could install it on another server with the local administrator (with identical rights), it seems that only this server has an issue.

Is this a known problem?! Is there a way to solve it? Or is there even a way to install the Dameware "host" manually? We found only an installation programm for the full version.

Thanks in advance for your help

when using DameWare Mini Remote Control I copy to a remote PC, for example a password or some other text (plain text), but it is not inserted into the remote PC.

such a problem appeared when I reinstalled DameWare Mini Remote Control on a new operating system - Windows 10

the clipboard does not work when copying from the main PC to a remote one, but in the opposite direction (copying from a remote machine to the main PC) is working.

Local admin required for fully sharing a desktop?

$
0
0

We are testing DWRC for allowing 3+ users to access the same desktop session simultaneously, with all three having keyboard/mouse control. From what I've seen so far DameWare can do this, but only if all three have local administrator credentials, and the "Allow All Administrators To Have Control" option has been ticked (see screenshot below). Otherwise it prompts the user for permission to connect, and then the connection is View Only.

The question:  Is there a way to allow people who don't have local admin rights to share the desktop session w/ control of the keyboard/mouse?  What if I want everyone who connects to have "Control"? Is this possible?
